An expert blend of AHA’s Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid combined with physical exfoliants help to improve skin texture and promote soft and supple skin. Formulated in a creamy base, our AHA Exfoliator Body Scrub is abrasive enough to exfoliate pesky dry areas, whilst leaving skin feeling moisturised and soft.

Q+A describes the scent of the body scrub as, “The summery and rich Golden Vanilla + Coconut scent is combined with notes of Macadamia, Papaya and Honeyed Amber.” The scent is indeed vanilla and slightly fruity, it wasn’t too strong and I liked it.
I used this coconut body scrub three times a week for 30 days to treat my keratosis pilaris on my right arm. I applied the product while showering in the evenings. Along with this product I used Q+A Salicylic Acid Smoothing Lotion as a chemical exfoliant/moisturizer twice a day. Before applying the lotion, I used The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner to exfoliate my skin.
Let’s start with the scent of this product. If you read my previous review of the Q+A body lotion, you know what I thought of the scent. If the Q+A (link) was even repulsive to my taste, this body scrub is the opposite.
According to the brand, the scent is “The summery and rich Golden Vanilla + Coconut scent is combined with notes of Macadamia, Papaya and Honeyed Amber.” which I can agree with.
The scent is soft, natural and wonderfully balanced. It is clearly recognizable after use but is not too strong or pungent, unlike the smoothing lotion I tested.
The body scrub is slightly yellowish in color, the exfoliating stones are small and I would say there are fewer than average. The texture resembles a runny body moisturizer/milk and is therefore easy to apply.
However, I often prefer body scrubs that are thick and mostly solid in texture, because my skin is not very sensitive and my keratosis pilaris is quite bad. When I use a lighter, more runny substance, I have to rub it into my skin longer and harder to get the dead skin cells off my skin.
Therefore, I recommend this product if you like a lighter body scrub and your skin prefers gentler mechanical exfoliation.
I also sometimes feel that when using a lighter body scrub in the shower, I have to avoid water because it also rinses off the skin more easily due to the more runny substance.
However, the product helped treat my keratosis pilaris symptoms, my skin softened and the bumps on my skin decreased or at least became smaller in texture. As you already know, I used the product together with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner and Q+A Salicylic Acid Smoothing Lotion and I sincerely believe that longer-term regular use would be even more effective for my KP skin conditions.
But what is the absolute most positive thing about this product in my opinion?
This natural exfoliant doesn’t cost a fortune, at $12.50 / tube ($1.48 per Fl Oz) this is the most affordable AHA/BHA mechanical skin exfoliator I’ve used so far. And as I mentioned earlier, when used with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner and Q+A Salicylic Acid Smoothing Lotion it’s by far the most affordable serum/body scrub/lotion combo I’ve tested.
Products Used:
I love coconut body scrubs, the smell is lovely, it has a light, gentle texture and is therefore suitable for sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin and prefer a gentler product, and you don’t prefer rough, sandy scrubs, this product may be ideal for you. This coconut body scrub is also natural exfoliant and its completely vegan.
The product is excellent value for money and won’t break the bank at only $12.50 / tube ($1.48 per Fl Oz).
