The AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is an at-home exfoliating facial that combines the power of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHA) to improve skin texture, reduce pore congestion, and address uneven skin tone. This high-strength peel is a recommended facial exfoliator for experienced users looking to achieve smoother, clearer skin.

NOTICE !
According to The Ordinary, this serum is an advanced-level exfoliating peel. It is only suitable for experienced users of acid exfoliation. If you have sensitive skin or are not experienced with acid peels, use the product with caution and test it before use.
The scent is really strong acid, reminds me of aged wine without any sweetness. However, the smell is bearable and I don’t mind it because the product is only used for a short time until it is washed off.
It is red in color, and it stains your skin red for the duration of its use.
The manufacturer recommends using the product once or twice a week, max three times a week. It says it’s best to use it after a shower on clean, dry skin.
The ideal application time is a maximum of 10 minutes, after which the serum is rinsed off with lukewarm water.
Because the product is a facial serum, and I used it to treat keratosis pilaris on my arms and not my face. I dared to use this product three times a week after showering, where I exfoliated my skin with a mechanical body scrub. I used it for 10 minutes at a time and then rinsed it off before applying moisturizer.
Along with this product I used Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Body Scrub With 10% AHA & BHA as a mechanical body exfoliant for 3 days a week. After applying and washing off the serum, I used Biotherm Biocorps Multi-Corrective Body Milk to moisturize my skin.
This product feels strong when you use it. The first few times I used it, my dry skin felt tingly when I applied it. However, I didn’t mind it because I didn’t use it on my face and it was perfectly tolerable for me. I also used it on a relatively small area on my arms and monitored its effect after each use.
The feeling also made me somehow confident that maybe it really works and exfoliates my skin because I can feel it. However this is my own experience and I do not recommend any skincare product to anyone who feels pain or discomfort. So use the product with caution at first and feel and see how your skin reacts to it.
After a few uses I guess my skin got used to it and I no longer felt the tingling sensation when using it. I also kind of liked the product because it didn’t have to be used twice a day like many other products I’ve tested.
The results I experienced using this product for keratosis pilaris were convincing. However, I felt that it dried out my skin, so moisturizing was especially important when using this.
After a month of use, my skin is noticeably softer and the redness and roughness have decreased. The keratosis pilaris bumps have decreased significantly, although they have not completely disappeared. However, I am optimistic that longer-term use would bring even better results with this product.
I plan to test this serum together with different products in the future.
Products Used:
Use this product with caution and do a thorough patch test before using it regularly. Even though I don’t have very sensitive skin, I felt a stinging sensation during the first few uses.
However, I got undeniable results with its use. My skin softened and keratosis pilaris on my arms decreased significantly with this product.
I found the product pleasant to use because I didn’t have to use it every day. Of course, rinsing it thoroughly after each use adds a little extra to my skincare routine, but for me it was okay.
One bottle costs $9.50 ($9.50 / Fl Oz) and it’s quite a value. However, you don’t have to use it as often as lighter serums so it really lasts.
If you don’t have particularly sensitive skin and suffer from keratosis pilaris on your body, I can recommend trying this product. In my experience, the best results are achieved by using a mechanical exfoliator and a good moisturizer with it regularly.
