This product helps soften and smooth dry bumps from Keratosis Pilaris with a multitasking formula featuring Lactic Acid for gentle exfoliation and deep hydration. Its velvety, non-greasy, fast-absorbing texture is free from fragrance, dyes, parabens, and phthalates. It’s also cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
Fragrance & Texture
The formula is really thick and silky soft. Due to the thick texture, it takes a little longer to spread but absorbs fairly quickly if you don’t apply it too much. I think the texture is close similar to CeraVe’s SA cream. The product has a mild but quite unique taste, I would describe it as a mix of some kind of acid and caramel which I liked.
I used this hydrating + exfoliating cream for 30 days to treat keratosis pilaris in my upper back arms along with The First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub. I used it daily both in the morning and evening right after showering on dry skin.
I should mention that I left random days between using a mechanical body scrub, because even though my skin is not particularly sensitive, daily mechanical exfoliation is still quite taxing. Always remember to test your skin to see how it reacts to new products, especially when it comes to skin exfoliants that contain AHA/BHA acids.
The product has a mild but quite unique taste, I would describe it as a mix of some kind of acid and caramel which I liked. Its color is pure white, and when applied is clearly translucent.
The texture is really thick, I could compare it to the Ceraves SA Cream I tested earlier. Despite the thick texture, it absorbs really well and doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky for long. Applying the product is a bit more difficult than usual due to its thick texture and, to be honest, it requires a bit more massaging compared to lighter moisturizers.
This product is really popular for treating keratosis pilaris and now I understand why. This stuff f****ng works. My skin became noticeably smoother after a month of use, previously my skin was rough and dry and the red bumps stood out in contrast significantly. The bumps on my skin decreased and most importantly their bright red color faded.
The moisturizing properties of the lotion are also worth noting, in my experience some AHA/BHA exfoliants dry out the skin. This is not a problem with this product, as in addition to its exfoliating properties, it also keeps the skin very moisturized. In terms of moisturizing the skin, even I, who have really dry skin, especially in the winter months, felt that I didn’t need to use this twice a day. However, since I was primarily using it as a skin exfoliant to treat keratosis pilaris, I used it regularly, morning and night, as planned.
As a thicker consistency cream that both moisturizes and exfoliates the skin, this product might be close to perfect. If you want to have an easier skincare routine and don’t want to invest in a separate exfoliating serum and moisturizer. I feel like this is one of the best all-in-one products for treating keratosis pilaris, it is both an excellent moisturizer and helped reduce my keratosis pilaris.
I will definitely continue using this product and try it on different parts of my body.
This stuff is quite pricey ($6.05 / Ounce), but I feel it is definitely worth it.
Amlactin KP Bumps Be Gone is highly effective for treating keratosis pilaris, offering a thick yet silky texture that keeps skin moisturized for up to two days. It serves as both an excellent moisturizer and treatment for KP, and I sincerely believe it is one of the best keratosis pilaris creams available. Though pricey at $6.05 per ounce, many consider it well worth the cost.
